RETREAT AND FESTIVAL QUESTIONS

WHAT ARE THE AGE REQUIREMENTS TO ATTEND THE RETREAT AND/OR 9/2 FESTIVAL?

  • All guests must be 21+
  • Guest must show government issued ID
  • Guest ID must match the name of the registered person

WHAT ARE THE DATES AND TIMING FOR THE RETREAT AND FESTIVAL?

  • RETREAT
    • Check-in for the retreat will begin on Friday, August 31 at 11:00 am with lunch provided at 12:00 pm. Welcome circle will begin at 1pm on Friday. The first workshop will begin at around 2:00 pm.
    • Departure: The closing circle for the retreat will occur after dinner on Labour day, Monday, Sept 3. This way, guests who need to leave the retreat to return to work on Tuesday can leave after the Monday night circle.For guests who want to stay on Tuesday, breakfast and lunch will be provided. There will be no official KARE programming on Tuesday as this is the relax and integrate day, where guests can enjoy yoga class in the morning, lounge by the pool or continue to enjoy the beautiful property. Rooms must be vacated and checked out by 2pm.Note, if you need to leave Monday night, contact us for $100 off to accommodate early departure,
  • HOURS FOR FESTIVAL ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2018
    • Gates open for one-day festival ticket holders at 11:11am on Saturday, 9/2 and the last guest must leave by 12:12am on Monday 9/3.
    • Note, a limited amount of overnight accommodations in a shared bunk bed cabin are available the day of the festival with check-in beginning at 11:11am on 9/2 and checkout the next morning on Monday 9/3 at 11:00am. Breakfast included and served at 8:30am.

LOCATION AND PARKING: HOW DO I GET TO THE RETREAT AND/OR 9/2 FESTIVAL?

  • The venue is approximately 45-minutes from the Toronto Pearson International Airport airport. The exact location of the venue will be provided to paying guests one week ahead of the retreat or festival.
  • Parking is included in price of retreat ticket or festival ticket and provided on site.
  • Guests coming from other cities or countries can fly into Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and rent a car. If guests wish to carpool with other attendees, we can do our best to help connect you with other guests.
  • Public transport can also be arranged from Pearson International Airport, instructions can be provided if needed.
  • If you are interested in a joint shuttle with other guests, please contact us and we can help facilitate.

PROGRAMMING FOR THE COSMIC CONNECTION FESTIVAL ON 9/2 (For the retreat programming, please refer to information under retreat questions below)

The festival goes from 11:11am on 9/2 to 12:12am on 9/3. It will begin promptly with welcome and opening ceremony led by Cannabis Priestess, Sari Starr, followed by The Intro to Cannabis Medicine talk with Dr. Ira Price. Guests will have a few hours to connect, purchase lunch and browse the Cannabliss Vendor’s market including a Creative Connection Corner presented by Irisa, a cannabis wellness brand.

From Irisa, Buywell.ca, Hotbox, CannaCanine and more, guests can visit the wellness area and the specialty vendors’ market, enjoy cool outdoor pool vibes or meander down forest paths to creeks and labyrinths, and even spoil themselves with spa and healing services. The day is packed with exciting activities and creative mind expanding workshops such as: Cannabis and Sexuality,  How To Incorporate Cannabis into a Wellness Regimen (by Bryan Hardy), Yoga + Qigong (led by Molly Kubes), and Redefining Cannabis – Eradicating the Stigma Expert panel (with Dr. Ira Price, Sari Starr and other panelists still to be announced), and more.

At 4:20pm, Sari will lead the cannabis ceremony with an accompanied sound bath by Darren Austin Hall alongside Jesse Buck, known in Toronto for their Ecstatic Dance parties.

Participants will also have the opportunity to partake in a celestial dining experience sponsored by Buywell.ca, Canada’s newest health and wellness marketplace, that will take them on a journey from inner to outer space.  Hosted under our beautiful tented canopy, guests will delight in a buffet of delicious vegetarian food and take part in an interactive evening that will allow them to dig deep and create the ultimate connections with their self and with their community.

After stopping in at the HOT BOX sponsored Vape lounge, those who don’t want the day to end can dance into the wee hours of the night with CIUT 89.5 FM’s DJ Medicine Man and sweet summer house and tribal beats by Toronto’s  T.O.A.

TELL ME ABOUT THE FOOD AND MEALS DURING THE FESTIVAL AND THE POP UP CELESTIAL DINNER.

  • During the day, for lunch and snacks:
    • food will be available for purchase or guests can bring their own picnic.
  • For Dinner
    • guests can bring their own picnic or
    • Guests can pre-purchase our Celestial Dining that will take them on a journey from inner to outer space. Hosted under our beautiful tented canopy, guests will the pre-paid ticket will delight in a buffet of delicious vegetarian food and take part in an interactive evening that will allow them to dig deep and create the ultimate  connections with their self and with their community.

Note, Gluten free and vegan diets can be accommodated for a minimal additional fee of $3. Meat will not be provided.

ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS FOR THE FESTIVAL
If you’re interested in staying overnight for the festival, a limited amount of overnight accommodations in a shared bunk bed cabin are available the day of the festival with check-in beginning at 11:11am on 9/2 and checkout the next morning on Monday 9/3 at 11:00am. Breakfast is included and served at 8:30am.

WHAT TO BRING FOR COSMIC CONNECTION FESTIVAL? (For the retreat, refer to list below)

  • Towel and swimsuit for swimming
  • Yoga mat
  • Picnic Blanket
  • Headlamp
  • Water bottle for fresh water springs!

WHAT IS PROHIBITED!

  • NO Glass bottles or glass containers
  • NO Weapons
  • NO Fireworks, fire tools or fire lanterns
  • NO Pets (Contact us to inquire and register a documented service animal)
  • NO Fires or Candles outside of designated fire pits

ALCOHOL

  • Alcohol will not be sold at Cannabliss Retreats or the festival and we request that you do not bring alcohol.

CANNABIS

  • As a result of the law for recreational cannabis starting on October 17, we will be partnering with a few cannabis providers for Retreat Guests to purchase medical cannabis ahead of the retreat at a generously discounted rate to registered patients. The list of providers will be given upon purchase of retreat or festival ticket spot.

SAFETY AND WILDLIFE

  • September is the best season to be in Ontario in regards to insects, yet given the forest surroundings, there may be insects and mosquitoes around. Please use only natural repellents such as citronella and lemongrass oil. Please do not bring DEET.

PHONE SERVICE/WIFI

  • We will have free WIFI available for all guests

PET POLICY

  • NO pets allowed unless you provide us with appropriate legal paperwork . Only documented service animals required for a disability will be allowed on the retreat grounds. Documentation must be provided to us via email at least two weeks ahead of the event and requires a confirmation from us.

CANCELLATION POLICY

  • When your application is accepted, all ticket sales are final. If an emergency arises and you cannot attend either the retreat or festival, you can transfer the name on your ticket.

RETREAT ONLY QUESTIONS:

PROGRAM

  • Program and Workshops: The retreat program consists of seven KARE workshops, cannabis ceremonies, cacao ceremony, daily yoga classes, sound bath meditations, guided hikes and more. Additional workshops are being finalized and will be announced in August along with names of additional instructions. Check back on the website here for updates on our list of facilitators and educators.
  • Daily program: The specific daily schedule will be provided to guests one to two weeks before the retreat.

MEALS

  • What meals are provided? Delicious healthy vegetarian meals will be provided for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Daily assorted tea and coffee will be provided throughout the day in addition to afternoon snacks.
  • Meal schedule: First meal is served on Friday at dinner time and last meal on Tuesday at lunch.
  • Standard Meal times are Breakfast: 8:30 am, Lunch: 1pm, Dinner: 6:30 pm except on Tuesday breakfast will be at 8am and lunch at noon.
  • Special diets: For an additional $3 per meal fee, meal supplements can be made for any special diet request (for example: Gluten free, lactose free, vegan). Meat will not be provided.
  • Community Kitchen – There is NOT a shared community kitchen but there is a small shared fridge in the lodge for guests to store a few personal items.

SHOWERS AND WASHROOM FACILITIES

  • All accommodations come with shared shower and washroom facilities. In the main lodge, there is a separate men’s and women’s facility with four to five washroom stalls, a long counter with seven sinks and four shower stalls. In the bunk house there are two individual washrooms and two individual showers that are shared with other guests.

WHAT TO PACK?

  • What is provided?
    • Bed linens are provided.
    • A fresh shower towel will be provided upon arrival. If you would like more than one towel, please bring additional towels. You will need to bring your own pool towel.
    • Yoga mats are available for $2 rental fee per day
    • Water
  • What do I need to bring for retreat?
    • Clothes for five days including layers for changes of temperature including:
      • Yoga clothes
      • One nice outfit for a gourmet dinner night
      • Swimsuit
      • A jacket or sweater for the evenings
      • Sun hat and night time hat
      • Hiking shoes (for trail walking)
      • Flip flops for pool and shower facility
      • Indoor shoes or slippers
    • All personal hygiene products including:
      • Shower soap (we strongly recommend unscented products be used – it normally lessens the mosquito attraction)
      • Natural insect repellents such as citronella and lemongrass oil
      • Sunscreen
    • Hairdryer if desired
    • Towel for pool (we do not allow our regular shower towels to be used at the pool)
    • Facecloth (if it is your habit to use one – we only provide one bath towel)
    • Flashlight or headlamp for trips to fire circle, etc.
    • Umbrella and/or poncho
    • Water bottle for fresh water springs!
    • Cell phone charger
    • Extra personal snacks
    • Journal
